Confidence is Key

Helllooo Everyone!

Day 3 of Alex Beadon’s Feel Good Blogging Challenge, and I am going to talk to you about….drum roll please…..

In my day to day experiences with my hobbies, I find myself questioning my own skills and talents A FRIGGIN’ TON. Why? Because I’m my own worst Enemy of course! What is it about most creative people that we just can’t take a compliment? We feel like our work isn’t going to be loved the way we love it, and WORSE we have a strong sense of envy when it comes to others succeeding in our own industries. This is NOT the way to strive, and it is certainly not the way to build an amazing business.

I suffer with confidence issues all the time, until I kick back and realize that I’m my own person with my own style, and my own preferences. RULE NUMBER ONE ABOUT BUILDING YOUR BUSINESS AND BEING AN AMAZING HUMAN: Never lose sight of who you are. We are all unique in different ways, and we need to remember it.

I have been focusing on these tips to better myself in my daily life *sometimes* I am not successful, but I hope you will find them useful for yourself to remember as well.

  1.  Focus On Your Passion – remember, you do what you do because you love it, and people love you because you are you, don’t change and don’t stop what you’re doing. Those who appreciate your REAL work and personality will never leave!
  2. Be Someone You Would Want to Be Around – Stop trying to over power everyone else and be the best, Be the kind of person you’d love to spend time with.
  3. Stop Comparing Yourself to Others – This is so easy to do! “why doesn’t my work look like that? Why can’t I look like her? Why is that person getting all the attention?” STOP THAT. STOP IT NOW. Things take time to achieve, and instead of comparing yourself, why not work towards it?
  4. Love Yourself! – You are beautiful, and talented and unique. Take some time to give yourself a mantra, and remind yourself every morning. You will have a happier day, and teach yourself that it is true.
  5. Be Positive – This is SO cliche, but by golly, it works. Think about good things happening to you, and remind yourself that anything bad happening can only get better.
  6. Don’t Be Afraid To Say No – Don’t do things you don’t want to do. It will only become a nightmare for you, and the result may not end up the way someone expects. You know your strengths and you know your talents, being a yes person may end up bringing you down.
  7. Give – Be thoughtful in your actions. Give compliments, Give gifts, and Give Love. You will be amazed at the return, and the way you feel about yourself will blossom.
  8.  Encourage and Build Up Others – Women are especially known for being brutal to one another. I think this goes with the comparison rule, but we have to remember, we all live in one world, don’t we ultimately just want to be happy? Encouraging others will spread that positivity. It reflects on who you are as a person, and your intentions. Seeing another person’s success shouldn’t intimidate you, it should motivate you. I’ve learned so many things from so many people who have built me up. Why not be that person?
  9. SMILE (even if you are not feeling it) – Everyone loves to see you smile, and you smiling lights up someone else’s day. Seeing someone else smile, will remind you to smile, and thus the circle is born! {One circle to RULE THEM ALLLLL!!} Ahem….
  10. Celebrate The Little Things – Having big goals and dreams is AMAZING, but some times we get discouraged when we aren’t reaching them fast enough. Celebrate the small things you accomplish in life and in your business. Tons of little accomplishments reminds you that you’re getting where you want to be step by step.

This made me feel bunches better after writing it. It’s easy to forget them, and certain situations make us feel like we ‘Just Can’t’, but we all have to remember we can. Every day, in every situation. Is there anything you’d add to this list? What do you do to try to stay confident?
